We Are Still Here

Friends,

It has been over a year since the last post, for that I am truly sorry. I know for many of you, this is the primary way that you receive information about MIM. We will do better to keep you informed in the future.

In the past year, many things happened that forced us to slow down with this ministry. It never ended, it was never gone, it was just slowed down. Looking back, today, we can see the various reasons that the Lord slowed this down. We can see clearly what the Lord was teaching us over the past year. We also see a bright future for this organization and feel strongly that the Lord is urging us to move forward and speed back up.

I want to thank everyone for your continued support and prayers. I assure you that though we have been silent for many months, we are still working, we are still praying, we are still seeking, and we are still here!

I wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all that came out last night to hear about the recent "vision trip". I enjoyed speaking with you all last night and I look forward to speaking with you more as MIM grows and the Lord continues to work through us. There were some good questions asked last night and I encourage you to keep the questions coming. A great way to stay up to date on what is going on with MIM is to subscribe to our e-newsletter. Come Hear About The "Vision Trip"

Raymond Road Baptist Church in Jackson, MS has asked me to speak about the "vision trip" that I took last month. I will be speaking this Sunday night 1/17/2010 at 6:00pm. Come out and hear about what the Lord showed me on this trip and where we feel he is leading MIM in the future. This will be an exciting time for me to share how the Lord is working in and through MIM.

I'm Home

I got home last night around 9pm after over 36 hours of traveling. It was very long but I am feeling pretty good this morning. The "vision trip" was a great success in my opinion. I got some very good information from the orphanages that I visited. I found some land that I think will be perfect for the orphanage (I will discuss the land in greater detail in future posts). God revealed some things that I had never even thought of as far as the orphanage construction is concerned. It seems every time I think I have it all figured out He shows me even more. Thank you Lord for your sovereignty. I made some really good contacts in Kenya and also with people at airports while traveling. God is so good to put the right people in our path at just the right time. Keep MIM in your prayers as we try to apply all that the Lord has revealed in the past couple of weeks. Thank you again to everyone who supports us through prayer as well as monetary gifts. You make this ministry possible.

Kenya Trip Update

I had the pleasure of preaching two services at First Baptist Church Ruiru, Kenya on Sunday. One was an English service and the other was a Swahili service with an interpretor (John Kisia from our board of directors was my interpretor) for about 200 or so people. Praise God, seven professions of faith in the Swahili service. On Monday we went into the Rift Valley to visit a well that our Crossroads team drilled last year. It was a long way to travel but well worth it. Africa is beautiful from the back of a motorcycle taxi. HaHa. I'm serious it really is. That is the only way to see the rift valley in my opinion. Anyway. Today and yesterday were very productive. We visited 5 orphanages and childrens homes. I have gotten so much information and some new ideas. I am very pleased with what God is revealing to me on this trip. Cannot wait to share pictures and stories with everyone.

I'm in Kenya

Well I am in Kenya. It is more beautiful than I even imagined. I know God has great things in store for MIM in Kenya. Starting Monday I will be looking at several possible sites for the orphanage. I am also going to be speaking with a couple of builders that have come highly recommended. I will be going to a few orphanages in the area next week to meet with their directors, so be in prayer that I will ask all the right questions and get all of the answers that I need. I will continue to post throughout my trip here and will add pictures in future posts. Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible. I look forward to sharing with you all very soon.

As of last night, the Lord has provided $1800 in less than a week. We have officially hit our goal. Thank you to everyone who supported us. Please continue to support us with your prayer. One last thing I want to mention is that we spoke with one of our board members in Kenya last night and he said that the price of food has gone up recently due to the severe drought. I would like to try to raise about $200 more before I leave on Thursday, just to be safe. Vision Trip Update

We are up to $1450 now. God is still working. We only need $350 more to make this trip happen. I have enough to buy the plane ticket but I do not want to spend $1350 on a plane ticket and have no money for ministry so I am going to wait until I have the full $1800 before I buy the plane ticket. Be in prayer that the price of the ticket does not go up and that I get the money in time to go on Thursday because after that day, the price of airfare is much higher. Thanks for your support through prayer and monetary gifts, and please keep it coming.

Since the price of the plane ticket went up a little, we are trying to get $1800 rather than the $1700 that was originally mentioned. We only need $450 to be where we need to be. $1700 in 24 Hours Challenge

Our $1700 in 24 hours challenge has ended. We did not reach our goal but we were able to get almost $1000 in one day. God is so good! We trust in Him and know that the rest of the $1700 needed for the "vision trip" will be provided. Please keep us in your prayers as we wait on the Lord.
